The Bracken County Animal Shelter is the only operational animal shelter in the county. The shelter only houses dogs, as the current facility is suitable to house only one type of animal. Dogs are always available for foster or adoption (along with a completed adoption application and $40 fee payment) and can be found at the link below.

Found dogs will have a five day stray hold, after which time they will likely be available for adoption, foster, or rescue. If you are missing a dog that is listed as available, please contact the shelter via email, phone, or Facebook. If you dropped one of these dogs, please contact them, so they don't have to wait in the shelter for five days before they can be adopted.
