County Treasurer

The County Treasurer serves as the chief custodian of county funds, overseeing the collection, management, and disbursement of public monies. Duties include collecting property taxes, preparing and depositing revenue from various sources, and ensuring that county funds are accurately accounted for and properly safeguarded. The Treasurer works closely with the county judge/executive, fiscal court, and other officials to maintain the county’s financial stability and transparency.

In addition to managing county funds, the County Treasurer provides detailed financial reporting, issues statements and receipts to the public, and responds to inquiries regarding taxes and payments. By maintaining precise records and supporting fiscal planning, the Treasurer helps ensure that county resources are used efficiently and responsibly, serving both government operations and the residents of the county.

The County Treasurer is appointed by the Fiscal Court and is responsible for fulfilling requirements set out by KRS 68.210, 68.020, 68.300, 68.360 and the Uniform Systems of Accounts for Kentucky Counties. The office prepares financial reports for the Fiscal Court and State Local Finance Officer.
